If there should be a paradise on earth, Jiuzhaigou must be one of them.
Located 370 km from Chengdu, Huanglong was the first stop on my trip to Jiuzhaigou.
The area is renowned for its magnificent travertine terraces, stretching for over 3 km. Eon of calcite deposits has formed these step-like geological structures.
From Huanglong, it took several hours on winding roads to reach Jiuzhaigou.
Here, towering alpine mountains soar above a carpet of green and yellow. They embrace mesmerizing lakes, waterfalls, and limestone structures.
Unlike in Huanglong, the water has an unusual peacock blue color. It is so clear that visitors can even see to the bottom.
